The LTTE considered the Tamil areas of northern and eastern Sri Lanka to constitute their own independent State (Tamil Eelam) and to this end they established a small Navy capability (here seen flying the LTTE Tiger flag). The LTTE "Sea Tigers" were ruthless and effective against the much bigger, better equipped Sri Lanka Navy, through the frequent use of suicide cadres, inflicting substantial losses on the SL Navy.

Venezuela, Caracas, The "Miraflores" Presidential Palace. The OAM Principal provided close security to Saudi Arabia's Sheikh AZ YAMANI, during the Sheikh's visit. Travel commenced in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Miami Florida, then onwards to Caracas.

In Moscow, the OAM Principal discussed strategic and tactical security services in Iraq on behalf of Gazprom and Lukoil oil and gas entities, both of which were seeking to invest in major oilfields in southern Iraq
